Especially at Dutch Brothers, a coffee place I LOVE but when the college girls let off a whole truckload of, "hey darling," "what can I get ya hun?" "thanks dear" and it is so clearly not the way they talk and there is no southern accent to denote a need for cultural open-mindedness....I sometimes have to refrain from pulling my hair! It wasn't until I was 18...I know what you mean! It wasn't until I was 18 that they stopped asking if I wanted a kids menu when I went out with my parents. When I order a drink I've had several waiters ask if my ID was fake, I once answered yes and he still gave me my drink.
