And here's Gary's list:
1. I hope to name my first born son Zeke, after my Grandpa Zeke, who is a mountain of a man.
2. I fall asleep during scary movies.
3. I am an expert at driving in reverse.
4. I never cry, but sometimes my eyeballs sweat.
5. I fly helicopters, which makes me a badass.
6. Ever since I got married I am much more aware of my hips.
7. I know a lot of random stuff, like the reason why your hand has been going numb lately.
8. I once thought I was being attacked by a bear, and instead of cowering in fear or running away, I bowed up like I was gonna punch him in the snout.
9. I passionately love the Lord and my wife, in that order.
10. I can’t cross my eyes.
11. Hands down, my mom’s lasagna is my favorite food.
12. I have my first haircut on tape.
13. I throw up a lot.
14. Running three miles uphill in January in Colorado makes me want to die.
15. I make a really believable black man.
16. The sight of Jake Glover and/or Justin Sandefur has been known to make me squeal like a four year old girl.
17. I smoke a pipe.
18. I like to refer to the Twilight series as “vampire smut.” My wife doesn’t think this is funny.
19. I slid down the waterslide at Frontier Ranch naked and covered in olive oil.
20. I like fruit. I like beer. I do not like fruit in my beer.
21. I’d always rather call someone than text them.
22. When I sign my first and last name I just write the same thing twice.
23. I love George Thorogood.
24. I deep fried a turkey last Thanksgiving and did not set myself on fire.
25. My wife wrote this list because I’m a bit of a stubborn ass and argued that “There are not twenty five things about me.”

Rerun
I posted this on Facebook...but I'm putting it on the blog as well...mostly for my mom's benefit, because I'd hate for her to miss out on a slice of her daughter's literary genius just because she's not on the FB.
25 Random Things About Me
1. I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue.
2. I know all the words to Grillz.
3. I am the proud owner of a mug with my face on it.
4. I got a piece of pencil lead stuck in my leg when I was little and it’s still there.
5. I never really like the songs I write.
6. I think my feet are really cute.
7. I’m always tempted to introduce Sarah as my twin. I’m not sure she even knows that. WELL, YOU DO NOW!
8. I secretly always feel awkward.
9. As a child, I was a tomboy and my nickname was George.
10. I don’t like home-style cooking.
11. No one’s really sure what my natural hair color is.
12. I’ve read all 7 Harry Potters, the Twilight series, and all 6 Jane Austen novels more times than I care to admit on Facebook.
13. My sister and I have an ongoing quote game that will never end.
14. I’m married to the best man I’ve ever met.
15. I live in Colorado so I have to pretend like I’m not really proud to be from Texas.
16. I have over 50 cousins.
17. I listen to classical music in my car.
18. I’ve had my nose pierced three times.
19. I listen to the John Tesh radio show for two hours every weekday.
20. If we’ve only met once, you won’t remember me the next time we see each other...but I’ll remember you, so our reunion will be reeeeeeeeeeally awkward. I promise.
21. I hate running but I’m training for a half marathon.
22. I worked at Taco Delite for six years of my life and I still miss the regulars.
23. I love my mommy.
24. I’m reading thirty books in 2009. (Only 25 and a half to go!!!)
25. I didn’t hyphenate my last name on Facebook when I got married, because if you don’t know about Gary Gray, then we’re probably not very good friends in the first place.

It's in the Air

**sigh**
I don't know if it's the new year, or the fact that Valentine's Day is right around the corner...but something wonderful has been going on!
Lately I feel like every girl I talk to is giggling about a new relationship and I'm not gonna lie...I LOVE IT. I have been blessed with some amazing women in my life, and it is such a great feeling to hear about exciting new things happening for them!
I may have been accused once or twice of being more than a little obsessed with my friends' romantic endeavors (mainly by a certain husband of mine who shall remain nameless). I have even been persuaded to take a step back and leave everyone alone...but seeing this handful of girls matched up with worthy men is just fueling my fire! It's just reaffirming my belief that my friends are all beautiful and witty and desirable and deserve the manliest men this world has to offer.
And that, my friends, is why I plan to steadfastly continue my mission to help the remaining "single ladies" realize their worth and wait it out, not for "a" guy, but for THE guy. Nothing less than the best, friends, because that's what YOU are!!!
Did that feel like a hug to anyone else?

Poprocks & Coke

Ok, so they're not actually Poprocks...and it's not really a Coke. But Green Day didn't write a song called Peanut M&M's & Dr. Pepper...
When I first got my job, I admit I had a little trouble adjusting to my new sleep schedule. I've always been one of those people who could sleep until 11:30 every day, take a nap or two sometime in the afternoon, and still be ready to go to bed at 10 pm. Thankfully, Gary was not that way. He was used to early hours, so every morning he'd be up before me, ready to help me get ready and cook me breakfast. Eggs & bacon, toast, REAL oatmeal (not the instant kind!). It made my transition about a thousand times easier.
Lately though, I'm pretty well adjusted to waking up at 6:30. Reciprocally, Gary's learning how to sleep in for the first time in his life. I would hate to disrupt that beautiful process, so I try to get ready as quietly as possible. Occasionally I finish in time to throw down a bowl of cereal or a banana, but most mornings I end up getting to work with an empty stomach.
Thankfully we live in a world where we don't have to go through an entire morning at work unsugared and uncaffeinated! And to those of you who would argue that chocolate and soda are an unhealthy breakfast, I'd like to pose this question: Is it better to have dessert at the end of the day, right before you lie in bed for 8 hours? Nay. Nay, I say to you, it is not. I refuse to feel guilty; in fact, I encourage everyone to eat dessert the smart way, the right way: at 8:30 in the morning.
